8 Tips On How To Remove Cellulite
Cellulite is not everyone’s favorite topic of discussion. Especially when it’s also known as orange peel skin, cottage cheese thighs, and hail damage.
Kinda’ mean, huh?
And, the reason why people don’t want to talk about cellulite is because most women have it and they all want to learn how to remove cellulite. It’s a particularly sore spot for any girl’s ego.
At the same time, you don’t have to feel sorry for yourself because you have cellulite.
There’s a big benefit in learning to appreciate and love your body the way it is, because you are alive and well. That said, you really CAN change these trouble areas at any time – once you know specifically how to address the problem.
Yes, you can actually help your body become tighter and leaner and remove cellulite on your own terms.
Make no mistake, though. This will take a bit of work on your end. That said, if you follow these tips, removing cellulite will not only be possible – it will be PROBABLE!
In this article, we’re going to discuss some of the methods you can use to reduce cellulite appearance on your body as quickly as possible. But first, it’s important you understand the nature of this condition.
Without knowing the root cause of these fat deposits, you’ll have a much harder time clearing them up. So, let’s get into why you’ve been stuck with this little dilemma.
Cellulite is annoying because, well, it’s genetic. If your mother has it, you’re likely to have it too.
For example, lumpy, bumpy skin occurs when fat presses against the connective tissue that’s around fat cells in your thighs. This causes bulging of these cells, creating a dimpled effect. However, don’t let the word genetic be an unshakable roadblock in your mind.
Even if cellulite is genetic, there are many ways to reduce its appearance.
1. Start By Consuming a Healthy Diet
You are what you eat. It’s a well known saying that has held true through the ages. Make no mistake, your diet lays the foundation for your appearance as you age.
Eating a healthy, anti cellulite diet is very important for minimizing the appearance of cellulite. Eat lots of whole grain foods ( e.g oat cereals and bran) and fiber, as well as vegetables and fruits, as they help to eliminate toxins and waste from your intestines.
You must carefully monitor your food intake. Restrict your intake of carbohydrates and processed foods. Starches are turned into sugar when they’re digested, so you should limit them as well. A healthy diet not only helps to reduce cellulite, but also improves your overall well-being.
2. Exercise At Least 5 Days A Week In the Beginning
Yes, this may sound excessive, but to initially remove cellulite through exercise, you’ll need to kick things off with an aggressive schedule.
I recommend working out for 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week in the beginning.
After about 3 months, when your cellulite is vastly removed (through combining these other tips), you can ramp down your exercise routine.
Reducing your weight will not only remove existing cellulite, but it will inhibit the formation of new deposits by improving your metabolic function.
3. Hydrate and flush
You need to take in enough clean, pure water, as well as juices from fresh vegetables and fruits to flush out toxins. These toxins that you’ll be flushing out contribute to the build up that takes place in your lower body’s connective tissue.
Water is vital for life and it’s also essential for minimizing and preventing additional cellulite. Drink at least 6-8 glasses (8oz each) of water per day to get this process going.
And, speaking of going … yes, you will be going to the bathroom quite a bit.
But, look at this as a positive thing. You’ll be flushing out those nasty, cellulite causing toxins as well as losing weight by not retaining excessive waste in your system.
That sounds way better than the alternative (dehydration) if you ask me.
Just think about dehydration and its effects: lumpy, shriveled, old skin. This doesn’t look like a cellulite-free body with a soft, supple appearance.
So, make this change a newfound habit. Drink a nice tall glass of water – first thing in the morning, every day. If you don’t love the taste of water, try throwing in somelemon slices or even a little lemon juice.
Herbal tea is another great drink but avoid consuming black tea and coffee as much as you can.
If you do decide to take them, drink fresh vegetable juice and extra water to help neutralize their acidity and dehydrating effects. Again, fresh juice from vegetables is the best.
4. Daily Massage and Skin brushing
You can stimulate the lymphatic system through massage and dry-bristle skin brushing to help push toxins into the elimination routes of circulation for release.
Skin brushing can target specific areas of cellulite.
Skin brushing in little circular movements over the thighs, buttocks and other parts with cellulite for some minutes a few times weekly will help to remove the fatty deposits responsible for the dimpled appearance.
Many experts recommends brushing not only circularly but also in the direction of your heart. So, you’d brush upwards if you were working on your lower body and downwards if you were brushing your upper body (such as your arms).
It’s best to begin skin brushing for just a few minutes and then gradually increase it to 7-10 minutes as weeks progress. This is to adjust your body for sensitivity to the brush.
You’ll want to do this every single day and adjust to your skin’s unique response (ie: if you experience redness or irritation, skip a day or two).
I also recommend doing this before you shower but still in the shower stall as you’ll be shedding a lot of dead skin cells in the process.
Once you’re done, your skin will feel “awake” and renewed. It’s an addictive sensation that you’re going to love!
5. Using A High Quality Cellulite Cream
There are so many varieties of cellulite treatment creams on the market. Make sure you buy a quality cellulite cream that contains anti-inflammatory ingredients and anti-oxidants.
These creams work by stimulating the circulation of the areas where the cream is applied. By improving blood flow to these “problem areas”, your vessels flush out more toxins making the skin appear smoother and less lumpy.
On other parts of this site, I actually show you how to make your own homemade cellulite cream (if these market brands are too pricey).
6. Take Advantage Of Moisturizers
Buy a moisturizer with a sunless tanner.
This moisturizer will help hydrate your skin and minimize the scale of the rippling.
It will also darken your skin, making the cellulite less visible.
The sunless tanner is a great product that can hide your cellulite while you try to reduce fat in your body.
7. Removing Cellulite With a Laser
Breaking down the fat deposits through laser therapy really works; but the treatment takes almost a year to produce results.
Laser treatment will eliminate all the ugly bumps (without all the work on your side).
That said, it’s still very important to start a proper exercise regimen when undergoing laser therapy to prevent the re-occurrence of cellulite.
People who undergo laser treatment will discover that cellulite will start returning after one or two years if they don’t take care of their body using the aforementioned tips.
8. Surgical Considerations
Finally, you can consider surgical treatments when looking for ways of how to remove cellulite.
Some options include mesotherapy and liposuction.
Mesotherapy is a series of various outpatient procedures where injections are given to eliminate fat cells permanently.
It has been used for some time in Europe and Latin America, as well as in America by elite plastic surgeons.
Consult a plastic surgeon to determine if these treatments are suitable for you as well as your condition.
